Document intelligence

See what a document is hiding.

Docurensic detects document fraud by running every file through five forensic layers — checking that it's safe, forensically sound, internally consistent, and real — then returns a single plain-English verdict you can act on.

Three tools run on the open site with a few free checks a day — the same backends our customers use, not cut-down demos. Nothing you paste or upload is stored.

§02 / THE ENGINE
One engine, five layers

Every document, examined in depth.

Docurensic doesn't just skim a file. The engine works through it layer by layer — each one asking a different question, each one adding to a single, explainable verdict.

L01

Security inspection

Before we trust a file, we make sure it's safe to open — scanning for malicious payloads, hidden or obfuscated links, and embedded scripts and macros built to slip past you.

scanning…2 checks
L02

Forensic analysis

We examine the file the way a document examiner would — metadata, fonts, revision history, and the pixels themselves — to surface the fingerprints of tampering.

scanning…4 flags
L03

Reasoning

An independent AI reads the document and reasons about it — what it claims to be, whether the details hold together, and what looks off — explained in plain language.

scanning…1 note
L04

Validation

Type-aware checks confirm the document is internally consistent for what it is — required fields present, totals that reconcile, and dates and IDs that make sense.

scanning…clear
L05

External lookups

Where it helps, we corroborate against the outside world — verifying companies, domains, and identifiers — so a document isn't just internally consistent, but actually real.

Depth is the difference.

A quick scanner tells you a PDF opens. Docurensic tells you whether the numbers were changed, whether the sender is who they claim, and whether the whole thing holds together — because it looks at every layer, not just the surface.

  • Safe first. Malicious files, hidden links, and embedded scripts are caught before anything else runs.
  • Every finding, explained. No black-box score — you see exactly what each layer found and why it matters.
  • One verdict. Trusted, Review, or Reject — with a 0–100 risk score you can build rules around.

§03 / WORKFLOW
How it works

Drop a file. Get a verdict.

No workflow to learn and nothing to install. It runs in the browser and lands in your history the moment it's ready.

STEP 01

Upload a document

Drag in a PDF, Office file, email, image, or archive. You decide what's kept afterward: the full report, findings only, or the file itself in your encrypted vault.

STEP 02

The engine goes deep

Five layers examine it in turn — security, forensics, reasoning, validation, and external lookups — each adding to a single, explainable result.

STEP 03

Read it, or let a rule act

Every finding is explained in one line, with a clear Trusted / Review / Reject verdict — then let a workflow route, tag, or escalate it automatically.

§04 / PLATFORM
More than a scanner

A whole workspace for questionable documents.

The scan is the front door. Behind it is a full set of tools to dig in, connect the dots, and act — all in one place.

Analyze

§05 / AUTOMATION
Workflows & rules

Decide once. It runs on every document.

Write the rule the way you'd say it out loud — a trigger, your conditions, the actions to take — and Docurensic runs it on every scan so the routine calls make themselves. Then tune the engine itself with your own detection rules, no code required.

  • Triggers from every scan — high risk, a verdict, a threat, an expired document, a duplicate, and more.
  • Conditions like document type, amount over a threshold, or a custom rule you built in the formula editor.
  • Actions — inbox alert, email, Slack or Teams, tag, set status, move, quarantine, open a case, or call a webhook.

§07 / YOUR DATA
Security & privacy

Your documents stay yours.

You decide what Docurensic keeps and where it lives — and everything is encrypted, at rest and in transit.

You choose what's kept

Store & review keeps the full report and automatically encrypts the analyzed original in File Vault when storage and quota are available. Storageless creates no new source copy; an existing vault or connected-storage file remains there, and only a slim history record is added.

Encrypted in transit and at rest

Documents you keep are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and a key derived per account, and every request travels over TLS. Encryption happens before bytes reach storage.

Bring your own storage

Connect a Dropbox or Google Drive folder and your files stay in your own storage — indexed for scanning, fetched on demand, using no vault space.

A record of everything

Every scan, AI call, and API request is logged with its outcome — a complete, browsable trail of what was analyzed and when.

Guarded by design

Outbound requests are protected against server-side forgery, and every webhook can be verified with an HMAC signature — so the platform can't be tricked into reaching where it shouldn't.

What we don't claim

We surface red flags. We don't rubber-stamp documents.

Docurensic finds forensic evidence of manipulation; it does not certify a document as genuine. A low score means no evidence of tampering was found, not a guarantee. Findings are evidence for a human decision — not a verdict handed down. That honesty is the point: it's what makes the output something you can actually stand behind.

§08 / SOLUTIONS
Where it earns its keep

Built for the fraud that arrives as a file.

Type-aware profiles know what each document should look like — and catch the edits generic tools miss.

Freight & logistics

Brokers · Carriers

Vet rate confirmations and BOLs, catch spoofed carrier emails and double-brokering, with carrier-authority checks on freight paperwork.

Lending & finance

Lenders · Underwriters

Screen pay stubs, bank statements, and invoices for altered figures, edited totals, and impossible metadata before you fund.

Insurance

Carriers · Brokers

Date-aware COI checks that expect a future expiration but catch a bumped coverage limit or a swapped insured name.

HR & onboarding

People teams

Verify W-2s, W-9s, and IDs at onboarding — flag forged certificates and AI-generated supporting documents.

Legal & professional

Firms · Ops

Compare document versions, audit signatures and revision history, and build a defensible record of what changed.

Anyone with an inbox

Everyday fraud

Business-email-compromise, phishing, macro malware, and AI-forged attachments — caught before they cost you.

§09 / FAQ
Questions

The short version.

What are the five layers?

Security inspection, forensic analysis, AI reasoning, validation, and external lookups. Each asks a different question about the document, and together they produce one explainable verdict.

Are my documents stored?

You choose. Store & review keeps the file, encrypted, in your vault alongside the full report. Storageless keeps no copy of the file at all — only the verdict, findings, and a fingerprint so you can re-verify the same document later.

Can it detect if a PDF was altered?

Yes. Because PDFs store edits by appending, revision markers reveal that prior versions exist — and physically impossible metadata timestamps flag tampering directly.

Can I automate what happens after a scan?

Yes. Smart Workflows run "WHEN a scan finishes, IF it meets your conditions, THEN act" — alert, tag, route, quarantine, open a case, or fire a webhook, all without code.

Do I need to talk to sales?

No. Docurensic is self-serve — sign up, start scanning, and upgrade when you're ready. No demo required.

Run your first scan in the next minute.

No install, no plugin. Drop a document and read the verdict.
